The Centre for Earth Observation Instrumentation will be holding the first EO Emerging Technology Challenge Workshop under the new banner of CEOI-ST.

The meeting will be held on 30th April 2014 – 1st May 2014 at College Court, the University of Leicester with an informal dinner in the evening of the first day.

The workshop aims to explore scientific and commercial EO measurement challenges, and to present new sensor and instrumentation technology to the community to stimulate novel measurement concepts. Thus the audience will consist of EO scientists, commercial applications engineers and entrepreneurs, and technologists from academia and industry. We will examine all EO measurement domains. The draft programme includes the following sessions:

  • Calibration Technologies
  • LIDAR and Lasers
  • Detectors
  • Technologies for commercial and operational missions
  • Miniaturisation and instrument engineering
  • THz technologies
  • Future Trends

The CEOI would be pleased to hear of new technologies which could benefit EO, and if you wish to give a brief talk, please email Rob Scott at rob.scott@stfc.ac.uk. It does not have to fit into the above sessions. Poster presentations will also be welcome.
