The Group on Earth Observations (GEO) has a couple of events coming up in the near future:

GEO Urban Heritage Climate Observatory (UHCO): 26 April 12:00 – 14:00 CEST

This new GEO Community Activity is a joint initiative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Centre and the Greek GEO Office.

It will be launched on 26 April, 12:00 – 14:00 hrs CEST with an open online event.

This launch event marks the official inauguration of UHCO as a new Community Activity in the GEO Work Programme, and aims to bring together experts and stakeholders from the relevant fields of climate change, Earth observation and urban heritage.

GEO 2021 Symposium (virtual): 21 – 24 June 2021

The theme of this year’s GEO Symposium is Strengthening inclusive partnerships across the GEO Work Programme (GWP).

The aim of the Symposium is to share successful practices and identify ways to accelerate the delivery of products and solutions to address environmental and societal challenges.

Topics range from EO solutions for global policy agendas, to advances in EO data and technologies, to the development of the GWP community.

The Symposium will take the form of Plenary Sessions, Parallel Sessions and Spotlight Sessions.

To encourage engagement across the entire GEO community and to allow speakers and audiences from all regions to participate, each day will begin at a different time.
