2pm to 3pm, Tuesday 7th December 2010

BARSC is delighted to invite you to a talk and informal question and answer session given by Liz Fox, coordinator of the Evidence Programme & Data Sharing Programme at Defra (Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs).

Working closely with other government departments (including the UK Space Agency), Defra leads the UK policy for GMES and GEO.  Liz’s  presentation will provide a policy update on both GMES and GEO and update BARSC members on the coalition government endorsed data sharing initiatives, including ‘data.gov.uk’ and the UK Location Programme.

Liz will also be pleased to answer questions from BARSC members on Defra’s activities related to remote sensing, GMES and GEO.

This event is  open to all BARSC members to attend and will be held at the Geological Society, Burlington House, Piccadilly, London W1J 0BG (click here for a map) on Tuesday 7th December, 2pm-3pm.  Please note that due to room size constraints places are limited, and will be assigned on a first come first served basis.

This event continues the series of successful and informative events BARSC has organised for its members over the past year.  Please RSVP to BARSC@quarry-one-eleven.com if you would like to attend.
