SPACE.eu CONFERENCE
28/29 February 2012
Diamant Centre
Brussels

Europe’s engagement with space is evolving rapidly, and the coming years and months will see a number of crucial steps. SPACE.eu builds on the hands-on experience of the network of space national contact points (ncp’s), so it will be designed to meet practitioners’ real needs.

SPACE.eu aims to to help space practitioners to understand the opportunities in this developing space landscape, and to take advantage of them. It will benefit both established operators and potential new entrants, with a particular focus on SME’s.

The topics to be covered by experts in the field will include

– looking to the future, both the near term (eg the 2012 FP7 Space Call) and beyond (Space in Horizon 2020)
– the key European Programmes – Commission, ESA, and leading member states – and how to contribute to them
– the role of leading players in the European Space Industry
– interaction with other key space-faring countries

Alongside expert high-level presentations, a particular feature of this event will be generous time devoted to structured matchmaking sessions. These will be based on sophisticated tools, providing an ideal environment to take serious steps towards creating new partnerships, alongside the excellent facilities for informal networking provided by Diamant Brussels (http://www.diamant.be)

And unlike many similar conferences this one is free, thanks to support from the European Commission in particular.

More details can be found on the Conference Website www.space2012.eu which also provides for on-line registration, and the submission of profiles to be used as the basis for matchmaking. To get the most from the matchmaking sessions, it is important to take care with the preparation of these.

This is a large scale meeting, with room for 350 participants. But demand for places is likely to be strong, so early registration – free of charge – is strongly recommended.
