Call for Plenary or Parallel Session Topics

The  UK National Earth Observation Conference 2018 – hosted by the Remote Sensing & Photogrammetry Society (RSPSoc), the National Centre for Earth Observation (NCEO) and the Centre for Earth Observation Instrumentation (CEOI) – will take place in Birmingham Edgbaston from 4th – 7th September.

Don’t forget to reserve the date as this is shaping up to be a very significant gathering of the UK EO community across research, government and industry.

The conference will be focused on Earth Observation science, technology and applications ‘Into the Future’  and the programme will include exhibitions and poster sessions, a school conference (7th September), plus plenary and parallel sessions.

The organising committee invites you to submit ideas to lead and chair a plenary or parallel session topic of up to one hour’s duration.

Examples of potential session topics include (but are not limited to): Earth System Monitoring and Models; Earth Observation Applications; Remote Sensing; Data Management, Services and Products; New Technologies, including UAV; Data Assimilation; Photogrammetric Methods and 3D Imaging; Earth Observation in Education.

If your session is accepted, you will be expected either to do the following or nominate a person to:

  1. Join the Scientific and Technical panel and review submitted abstracts (both for talks and posters);
  2. With the rest of the Scientific and Technical panel, agree a shortlist of speakers for your session;
  3. Liaise with selected speakers, and confirm their attendance;
  4. Chair the session.

Submission

Your proposal should include a short description of up to 150 words and a nominee who will Chair the session.
